Hi, we’re Jade and Nathan, the couple behind Paws & Promises in Cairns.

When we began planning our own wedding, we knew without a doubt that we wanted our dogs included in our special day. But after searching Cairns and the surrounding regions for a pet wedding assistant, we quickly realised something was missing — there was no one offering dedicated, reliable dog-handling services for weddings.

As lifelong dog lovers, we understand the stress that comes with wanting your pets there, but also wanting to enjoy your wedding without worrying about them. Who will settle them before the ceremony?

Who will walk them down the aisle? Who will take them for water, toilet breaks, shade, or back to the car when they get tired or hot?

We felt that gap deeply… so we decided to fill it.

That’s how Paws & Promises was born — a service built from our own experience, our love for animals, and our desire to help couples include their furry family members in the most beautiful, stress-free way.

Together, we bring calm, reliable, and caring support to every wedding. With years of experience around dogs of all sizes and temperaments, we know how to keep your pup comfortable, happy, and safe through every moment — from getting-ready photos, to aisle walks, to the last cuddle before drop-off.

We proudly service Cairns, the Northern Beaches, Port Douglas, Tablelands, and through to Townsville (extended travel).
